Dragons Unveil New Charity Warm-Up Jersey to Launch Charity of the Year Partnership with Parkinson’s UK Cymru

The Dragons are proud to unveil our brand new warm-up jersey, created in collaboration with Parkinson’s UK Cymru, our Charity of the Year for the 2026/27 season.

The specially designed jersey symbolises a shared commitment to raising awareness, supporting those affected by Parkinson’s, and bringing our community together behind a cause that touches the lives of many people both within and beyond our club.

The new warm-up jersey will be worn throughout the season as a visible symbol of the partnership and the Dragons’ determination to make a positive impact.

More than just a jersey, it represents the power of sport to unite communities, spark conversations and support an important cause.

Parkinson’s UK Cymru is the charity that’s here to support every Parkinson’s journey.
From delivering life-changing support services and campaigning for better health and social care, to funding pioneering research into new treatments and ultimately a cure, the charity is dedicated to improving life for everyone affected by Parkinson’s.

Parkinson’s is a complex neurological condition with more than 40 symptoms, ranging from tremor and stiffness to pain, anxiety and sleep problems. There is currently no cure, and the condition progresses over time. Around 166,000 people in the UK are living with Parkinson’s, including more than 8,600 people in Wales.

Every 20 minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with the condition, and by 2050 it is estimated that the number of people living with Parkinson’s worldwide will double to 25 million.

Dragons General Manager Shaun Bebbington believes the partnership is about far more than fundraising.

“Supporting local charities is incredibly important because raising awareness can make a real difference to people’s lives. Parkinson’s is something that affects people in and around our club every day, whether that’s players, volunteers, supporters or their families, so it’s a cause that is very close to home for us.
If we can help people better understand Parkinson’s while raising a bit of money along the way, then that would be fantastic. As a community club, we have a responsibility to support causes that matter to the people around us, and we’re proud to stand alongside Parkinson’s UK Cymru throughout the season.”

Community Fundraiser for Wales, Keri McKie, welcomed the partnership.

“We are incredibly grateful to Deeside Dragons Ice Hockey Club for choosing Parkinson’s UK Cymru as their Charity of the Year for the 2026/27 season. We look forward to working alongside the club on a range of fundraising and awareness events throughout the year, helping to shine a light on Parkinson’s and the people and families it affects.”

The Dragons would like to thank everyone who has supported the launch of this partnership and look forward to working closely with Parkinson’s UK Cymru over the coming months.
